Parents have the right to obtain an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) of their child at the school’s expense.
** YOU also have the right to request Neurodivergent Consultant, LLC to complete the IEE. **

The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) issued a policy letter clarifying that parents have the right to choose their independent evaluator.

The Dept. of Edu. added a new paragraph (b)(5) in § 300.502 to clarify that a parent is entitled to only one IEE at public expense each time the public agency conducts an evaluation with which the parent disagrees.
